At Henriksen Amplifiers, our story is rooted in a passion for music, a drive for innovation, and a commitment to supporting vibrant artistic communities. It all began with our founder, Bud Henriksen — a visionary man who embodied the spirit of entrepreneurship.

Bud embarked on his first business adventure in the 1980s with Henriksen Data Systems, a data equipment manufacturer. As the ’90s rolled around, his focus shifted toward software development. But eventually, Bud found himself longing for something more, something that aligned with his biggest passions.

After he retired from the software industry, he rekindled his love for music, particularly the guitar. Searching for the perfect instrument, he stumbled upon a guitar that he adored, but he was faced with a dilemma: The existing amplifiers on the market just couldn’t capture the jazz guitar’s unique sound while remaining portable. Undeterred, he decided to take matters into his own hands and create one himself.

Drawing on his love and understanding of jazz music, prior manufacturing experience, and knack for craftsmanship, he set out to create the amplifier he envisioned. After tireless experimentation, he finally achieved what he was looking for. Excited by his creation, Bud asked his son Peter to quit his job and join him on the Henriksen Amplifiers journey.

In 2006, Henriksen Amplifiers released its first amplifier to the world: The Jazz Amp. The response was overwhelming as musicians discovered the unmatched quality and tone the Henriksen amplifier produced. However, just a few years later, Bud sadly passed away after a battle with cancer.

Today, Peter continues to carry forward his father’s maxim: “It’s not a business; it’s a mission.” Like his father, he believes that when people sound better, they play better, and he’s driven by the desire to give musicians the opportunity to unleash their full potential.

Jazz, in particular, holds a special place in Henriksen’s heart. Still, Peter was determined to extend his father’s vision beyond the genre. Over the past decade, he’s reached out to various types of musicians, from flat-top acoustic guitar players to harmonica players, to offer portable devices that elevate the sound of any instrument. Eventually, Peter would develop the Bud Amp — a tribute to their father’s devotion to music communities.

This devotion is still central to our core values here at Henriksen Amplifiers. We believe that the arts are at their best when they’re community-based, and we strive to support and uplift those communities. We actively take part in community-focused initiatives and support various artistic endeavors.

Be the next musician to take your sound to new heights. Built with exceptional craftsmanship and unmatched sound quality, our amplifiers let you unlock your full sound potential.
