Henriksen, inc. designs and manufactures jazz guitar and bass amplifiers and accessories for jazz musicians using an analog architecture to acheive the greatest possible jazz tone. In business since 1980, we began working on the JazzAmp in 2005 and currently manufacture them at our facility in Denver, CO. Our amplifiers are manufactured entirely in the USA using a modified form of outsourcing to achieve high integrity quality control. We purchase all of the components contained in the JazzAmp electronics and send them out in a kit to a very sophisticated assembly house in Denver. When the boards are completed we test them here and install them in their chassis, which are also manufactured at a facility in the Denver area. Our cabinets are currently manufactured in California using the finest of imported Baltic Birch, and our speakers are made in Eminence, KY. We perform final assembly here at our plant and each amplifier is play tested by a musician with an instrument before it is packaged and shipped, which assures the highest level of customer satisfaction.

Henriksen, inc. was founded in 1980 under the name Henriksen Data Systems, inc. In January of 2006 the name was officially changed to reflect the fact that the company is no longer in the computer market. Throughout the 80s the company, was engaged in the design and manufacture of telecommunications and data processing equipment. We created and manufactured custom programmed devices which fit in between computer terminal equipment and distant mainframe computers. These devices processed user input and reformatted the data stream to various computer protocols. We also designed and manufactured telephone switching systems. Henriksen Data Systems, inc. designed interface equipment for TRW, Chilton Corp, and others for the rapid processing of credit reporting. We also manufactured Telex and TWX equipment for international communication. Our customers over the years have included Western Union, Sears (catalog sales terminals), TRW, General Electric, Motorola, ITT, RCA, the banking industry and many others. In the 90s we were engaged in the development of database driven web servers.

How did we get into making guitar amplifiers? It’s pretty simply, really. Our founder, Bud Henriksen, had retired and was focusing on playing jazz guitar and after trying dozens of amplifiers both new and vintage, just couldn’t get the sound he was looking for and decided to build his own. After taking his prototype to his instructor and sending a few of them to some very noteable professionals around the world, the message was clear; Bud’s new mission was to manufacture the JazzAmp for the public. Thousands of satisfied customers and 6 years later, we continue to build the JazzAmp and work on innovative products to serve the jazz guitar and jazz bass playing community.
