Description

The Ray is our quad array extension speaker cabinet with defeatable concentric tweeter, designed to provide the highest fidelity, flattest possible response in the lightest weight cabinet possible. It really is unbelievably smooth, and when coupled with The Bud or any other amplifier it brings to the front rich and clear mid and high frequencies. It is designed with a PA speaker type thread mount on the bottom, but a standard mic stand will also fit in the hole. A mic thread adapter will also be available soon.

I have the Bud and the extension. Use the Bud for playing and writing every day. Take the extension on small gigs. Great gear. Highly recommend.

I use this paired with my Bud and also with my Quilter Toneblock 200. I plan to use it with a low wattage tube amp as well. It has tons of capacity and sounds crystal clear. With the Bud, it really spreads out the sound.

I purchased this to go with my Bud Head. It’s small, but can take a lot of power and doesn’t distort whatsoever. It’s got a switch on the back to enable/disable the tweeter, so it can be used for jazz or as an acoustic guitar speaker. It can also go on a mic stand and is light enough to not be an issue. I plan to use it as my main for small gigs, as a monitor for larger gigs, and as a very handy PA speaker. It only weighs 10 pounds and my Bud Head only weighs 3.5 pounds. I was lugging around a 47 pound Fender Vibroverb before, so this new setup is sweet relief and sounds great too, even at very low volumes. While I will always love the sound of a good tube amp you can’t really argue with the light weight, zero distortion, and longevity of these fine Henriksen products!
